Grantville Gazette

141652051103.jpg

An electronic magazine of stories and fact articles
based on Eric Flint's 1632 "Ring of Fire" universe

Volumes 1 through 6 are already available, in electronic format, with Volumes 7 and 8 on the way. Volume 1 and 2 are also available in paper editions, with Volume 3 in preparation.

In Volumes 3 and 4, Gorg Huff and Paula Goodlett continue the adventures of their teenage tycoons-in-the-making, and two stories depict the early days of some American military units after the Ring of Fire. In other stories, Grantville becomes a magnet drawing Europe's most ambitious young musicians and a woman terrorized by the notorious Hungarian countess Bartholdy finds peace and sanctuary in Grantville.

These volumes also contain factual articles exploring such topics as the mechanization of agriculture in the 17th century, the logic behind the adoption of the Struve-Reardon Gun as the basic weapon of the USE's infantry, the development of an oil industry, and differing views on the prospects of creating a machine gun using the resources and technology available after the Ring of Fire.

Later volumes of the Gazette continue with the same sort of enjoyable stories and interesting factual articles.
