ABOUT THE AUTHOR

With several million books sold and a New York Times bestselling series or two under his belt, David Weber is the science fiction publishing phenomena of the decade. A lifetime military history buff, David Weber has carried his interest in history into his fiction. In the bestselling Honor Harrington series, the spirit of both C.S. Forester's Horatio Hornblower and history's Admiral Nelson are evident. The latest installment in the series is At All Costs (November 2005).

Previously the owner of a small advertising and public relations agency, Weber now writes SF full time and has over 30 titles in print. While he is best known for his spirited, modern-minded space operas, he is also developing a fantasy series, of which three have been published: Oath of Swords, The War God's Own and Windrider's Oath. Weber's first published novels grew out of his work as a war game designer for the Task Force game Starfire. With collaborator Steve White, Weber has written four novels set in that universe: Insurrection, Crusade, In Death Ground, and The Shiva Option, collected in two volumes as The Stars at War I and The Stars at War II. Recent bestsellers also include his planetary adventure collaborations with rising star John Ringo: March Upcountry, March to the Sea, March to the Stars and We Few.

A popular guest at science fiction conventions, Weber makes his home in South Carolina with his wife Sharon, his three children and a passel of dogs.
